Federal Aid and Tuition Assistance for Graduate Students

Santa Clara Law is proud to work with accepted students on identifying opportunities for federal financial aid, military benefits, and other forms of tuition assistance.

Federal Aid for Graduate Students

As a graduate student at Santa Clara Law, you will be eligible for the following types of federal aid:

  • Direct Unsubsidized Loans: $20,500 borrowing limit per year
  • Direct PLUS Loans: maximum loan amount is cost of attendance minus any other financial aid received
  • Federal Work-Study: limited availability

Visit the Federal Student Aid site for more information on student loans, and see Santa Clara University Financial Aid Office’s guidelines for the Federal Work-Study program.

Applying for Federal Student Aid

If you plan to apply for federal aid, you must file your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit all required documentation in a timely manner to allow Santa Clara Law ample time to process your financial aid package. We recommend filing as soon as possible after January 1 of the calendar year in which you wish to enroll. The Santa Clara Law FAFSA Code is 001326.

Submit Your FAFSA

If you wish to apply for a Direct PLUS Loan, you must submit a Direct Plus Loan application in addition to filing your FAFSA.
